Introducing Stacey Loring

Hi everyone!

My name is Stacey and write a lifestyle blog called Stacey Loring. I write about anything that pops into my head, but most of my posts are related to: planners, blogging, life issues, beauty, freaky stuff (my house has un-invited houseguests, if you get my drift), health and wellness, just to name a few. I post on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Monday's and Wednesday's are random posts. Saturday's are planner related.

Okay, a little about me. I’m 51 years-old, as I’m writing this. I’m opinionated and brutally honest. I believe in the old adage, “if you don’t want to know the answer, don’t ask”. I live by this, as well as, a few other mottos.

I live in South Carolina with the man of my dreams and my old grumpy cat Mr. Jinxavitch Chumansky. He’s too pretentious to just have one name.

Aside from blogging and doing some paper crafts, I don’t really have any other hobbies. I enjoy blogging, watching you tube videos and spending quality time with my honey.

Adela and I decided it would be fun to do a Q&A post. When you’re done reading my answers, please visit my blog to read Adela’s Q&A.

How did we meet?

I believe it was in 2012. At that time I was making wax tart review videos on You Tube as the video creator Kfyecats. Adela (aka: Ladybird), was one of my first subscribers. We actually hit it off, and had I remember always getting excited when she left a comment on one of my videos. Adela is an amazing person, and although I’ve never met her in person, I’m sure if I did, I would be “star-struck”, because like me, she’s awesome!

What’s the best and worst thing about blogging?

Let’s start with the best since that’s the easiest. For me, the best thing about blogging is being able to put down in words what I’m feeling at the moment. I love to share my thoughts on products I’ve recently tried, as well as, venting, and talking about life in general. It’s also great knowing a few people really care what you have to say. I also enjoy the creativity of it. I had written a manuscript back in 1992, and never did anything with it. Right now, it’s just sitting in a disc in my closet under some Hello Kitty pajama pants.

Writing a blog, helps me fulfill the joys of being a published writer. I may not be writing the great American novel, but I’m writing something I hope others will enjoy.

The worst part about writing a blog? For any new budding blogger, it’s getting people to comment on your blog posts. Blogger’s love to have an open line of communication with the wonderful people who read our posts, and it’s difficult to have that if people don’t like to leave comments.

What do you want to accomplish with your blog?

Ideally, I’d like it to be successful and to become my sole source of income; however, that’s just a goal that’s about 4 years down the road.

We all measure success in different levels. To me, success would be having interaction with new, and existing loyal readers through-out my posts and in my social media accounts.

Success to me is being able to touch someone with my words.

Success to me is not just the number of readers I have, but it’s the connection I make with them.  In the interim, I want to be the best writer I can be, and I want my readers to connect with me through my words.

What is your favorite beauty product?

Most definitely it’s mascara! That one item can really make my deep set eyes pop on occasion. It also hides the botched up job I do when applying my eyeliner. My favorite mascara is Cover Girl Clump Crusher, but right now I’m totally digging Guerlain Maxi Lash.

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
