Faithful Friday: How sure are you?

Hello again and Happy Friday to you all!

Today I am going to be sharing an interesting conversation I had a week or so ago with a person who doesn't share my faith. For those of you that are reading for your first Faithful Friday, Welcome! I hope you enjoy these posts. Faithful Friday's are my way of sharing my thoughts about my Christian faith, struggles I have been facing, or personal experiences.

OK, let's get into today's topic. I'm sure some of you fellow Christian's have been asked this question and if you haven't, prepare yourself because it will come sooner or later!

The question: "How SURE are you that there is a God?"

Now before we get to what I said in response, I want to pause for a moment to prepare those of you that haven't been faced with this question. If someone is asking you this it is more than likely that:
1) They don't know God and are looking for answers
2) They do know Him and are having doubts about it
It could be a million other reasons but for the sake of keeping this post a reasonable length, we are sticking with these two reasons. This is your chance to share your faith. So don't get scared and blurt out "UHH, like 100% sure, DUH!" or something rude like that. Pause for a moment and take yourself back to the time when you didn't know God yourself. How would you want someone to answer you?

So what did I say? My first thought was "WOW! Really, Lord? You're making me answer this??" To be honest, I had an image in my head of Jesus resting His chin in His hand with a smirk on His face saying "YEP! So answer the question!"

Here goes nothin' - I dive in to the answer...
First, I repeated the question, because Miss America always does. haha! (and I was nervous so cut me some slack!)
Then I said, I am 100% sure that there is a God.
Them- How are you 100% sure?
Me- I'm 100% sure because I have a relationship with Him and I can feel His presence. Then I hit them with this awesome example! It's like love. You can't see love, you can't touch it, but you know it is there because you can feel it. It makes you feel a certain way on the inside, like the butterflies.
Them- Ok, that makes sense.

And that was the end of it! My approach to religion is this, I can't force you into having a relationship with God because we are each in charge of that. We decide when we are ready for it. We decide when we are willing to change. I think that when the time is right, you will know. I don't want to come off pushy or like I'm shoving Christianity down your throat. Instead, I will live my life the best I know how and hope that someone who doesn't know God will see something different in me and want that same thing in themselves.

I will wrap up here, friends. If you are asked questions about your faith, don't be afraid to answer them honestly. Just be sure that when you do, you're giving an answer that will keep them coming back for more. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'll see you back on Monday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
