Monthly Favorites: September

Hello everyone!

I can't believe it has been a month since my last favorites post! It seems the older you get, the faster years go by. I have some good products to share with you this month. I am going to link to each product below so you can easily check them out for yourself.
Also, if you missed last months favorites, I will link it and the end of this post.

Here we go!

Like last month, I will start with my non beauty related favorites first. (Linked below in case you missed it)

Favorite Drink: Starbucks Mango Black Tea Lemonade
Oh my! This thing is delicious! I don't even want to know how much sugar is in this thing. I don't have them very often but when I do, I savor every sip. I believe these were a summer drink so I'm sure they'll be phased out soon.

Favorite Food/Snack: Apples
For those of you that don't know I live in a town filled with fruit and vegetable orchards so that means that we have an abundance of yumminess year round. The last time I was at the fruit stand I picked up some delicious apples and I have been rationing them to one a day. They're so good!

Favorite Perfume/Body Spray: Mod Noir by Marc Jacobs
Holy smokes! This perfume is wonderful! I received a sample in a Sephora order and I was hooked so Mr. Adela Told Me bought it for me as a birthday gift. I believe this is exclusive to Sephora. If you like gardenias, give this a whiff. It smells like gardenias but not in an old woman scent. It's a perfect blend of floral and clean. I will list the notes below...
Notes (from Sephora's website) Greens, Gardenia, Creamy Musks

Eyeshadow Palette: Too Faced Natural Matte Eye
I have gotten a ton of use out of this little thing since I got it. The colors are perfect and it takes the guess work out of combining shadows. If you like matte neutral eye looks then I highly suggest you pick this up. The shadows are silky and blend easily and very pigmented. They are powdery when you take a brush to them so be sure to tap your brush off before you apply. Another thing I love about this is that it is very travel friendly because it is in a compact metal tin.

Eyeshadow Singles: NYX Prismatic Shadows in Girl Talk and Bedroom Eyes
Wow! These shadows are by far the best out there for drugstore prices ($5.99 at Ulta). I cannot believe how pigmented these are. NYX did a fantastic job with these. If you like metallic shadows you will love these. Lately, I have been putting a light brown in the crease and will apply Bedroom Eyes on my lid with my finger with mascara and it's a gorgeous and quick look. Something about that shade makes my eyes glow. I will definitely need more of these in my life!

Blush: Makeup Revolution Matte Blush in Nude
Love, love, loooove this blush! I can't wait to get my hands on more of these. This brand is new to Ulta. This shade is perfect for my skintone and the matte finish is great for this time of year. It's super pigmented, affordable, and doesn't oxidize throughout the day. I could go on and on about this product but I have to move on!

Nail Polish: Essie Saltwater Happy
I have had this color on my toes this month. Yes, I am due for a pedicure. It is a beautiful pastel blue. Not baby blue by any means, just a perfect shade of pastel blue without looking like an easter egg. The formula is amazing and it hasn't chipped at all since I put it on. I believe this was a summer collection so get your mitts on it if you can.

Lip Treatment: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
I know this is a ridiculous amount to spend on these things but they are unlike anything I've ever used before. I don't know what they do to make these so special but I am hooked! I can see myself keeping these as my makeup splurge because I don't have very many of them. They make my lips feel so soft and smooth. I love them! I got mine in a trial sized set from Sephora and have to force myself not to use them all up. They're so good!

Lip Scrub: The Kiss by Lush
This was a limited edition product for Valentine's Day last year. I bought this little guy back then and honestly forgot about it because he made his way to the back of my drawer. I found it a few months ago and have been using it regularly. This smells (and tastes) amazing! I use this whenever my lips are feeling dry, which is fairly often during the cooler months. It only takes a tiny bit so this thing will last me a while. When this one finally does run out I will definitely be buying a replacement.

I must say, I really do enjoy these posts. There's nothing like talking about good products! What are some of your favorite products? I'd love to hear about them.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
