Day to Night Makeup Tutorial with 2 Lip Options

Hello Again,
The other day I was thinking about how difficult it can be to go from a day look to a night look. I decided to create this look and show you how easy it can be to do just that in a few simple steps.
If you would like to see how I transform my makeup from day to night...Keep on scrollin'

~Day Look~

I chose a primer that holds up nicely throughout the day. This one by elf is amazing, I actually have already purchased a back up and it should be arriving any day now. If you have a new primer that you are dying to try out, now is NOT the time to test it! You want to use something that you are familiar with and know will last all day.

I concealed like I usually do with my corrective and brightening shade.

I know this looks like a ton of concealer and on a normal day I only put a stripe of Fit Me down the side of my nose, but because we are going out later I wanted a more highlighted effect. I mean, what night out doesn't involve selfies and group pics with the girls, right?

I blended them in with a damp sponge.

Set with an HD Powder. Again, use a powder that you know won't settle into your fine lines throughout the day.

I don't switch up foundations day to night. I usually wear this one unless I am going to be photographed (at a wedding, special event, etc.)

Priming my lids is something I never skip! If you don't usually prime your lids then you might be able to get by without this but this is a must for me.

You can't go wrong with a matte eye, in my opinion. You don't have to worry about shimmer falling all over your face or fading as time goes on and I think it is a classic and clean look. Something to think about: if you are going out straight from work and won't have a chance to go home, pick a palette that you can easily throw in your makeup bag. This palette is the perfect size for that and it has a great variety of shadows in it.

I took "Heaven" all over the lid with a flat shadow brush. This gave me a nice bright base that will help keep my eye looking awake during the day.

I applied the shade "Nudie" to my crease for a bit of definition. Making sure that I took my time to blend the color so there were no harsh lines.

Then called in my standard lash team.

I finished off the face with this nice rosey blush for a natural flush look.

I applied a Butter Gloss for a few reasons: They are easy to apply, they're comfortable, and this shade is perfect for light makeup days.

Here is the completed Day Look. Not too over done, just enough to look fresh and pretty.

I love how the lashes stand out with this minimal eyeshadow!

~Night Look~

Now I will walk you through some simple steps to really amp up the look and get you ready for your night out.

First, I want to add more definition to the eye. I did this by taking the shade "Risque" on a pencil brush and darkening the outer corner.

Using the same brush and the shade "Sexpresso", I added even more darkness to the outer corner. You might notice that I don't do "The outer V" technique because I have a more rounded eye shape and I feel like the "V" can look a bit too heavy at times. I apply my darker shadows in the natural curve of my eye socket because I think it is more flattering on me. Especially if I am wearing falsies, which you will see in a minute!

I blended the shadows out with a fluffy brush.

I decided I needed a little bit of warmth above the shadows so I went in with "Honey Butter" on an angled shadow brush.

I applied a bit more of "Heaven" to the brow bone.

I smudged "Risque" under the lower lash line with my favorite smudge brush. I got this when Morphe was on Hautelook and it has turned out to be my favorite!

I added dark brown liner because I was going to be putting on falsies and I wanted to conceal the band. Which didn't work because I was not pleased with the lash band AT ALL! More about that later.

I applied a it more of mascara to the upper and lower lashes.

I added on the falsies. These were pretty but I was not happy with the way the band shines once the lash is on your eye. It probably wouldn't be noticed by anyone else but I noticed it and that was all I kept looking at when I was taking pictures.

I countered and bronzed my face with this It Cosmetics compact.

I applied the blush from the palette as well. This is a gorgeous shimmery shade and I love the way it reflects in the light.

I use any excuse to put on a highlight. So I swept this all over the high points of my face.

~Lip Option #1~

I lined and filled in my lips with Eastend Snob and then went over the top with Chocolaque.

Here are some pictures of the final look with this lip option.

and one more!

~Lip Option #2~

For the second lip option, I chose something dark and vampy. I lined and filled in my lips with Plush Plum lip liner and went over the top with Blissful Berry. Wait until you see this lip combo!

Isn't it gorgeous?! I did not want to take this off! and look at how different it made the eyes look! I didn't do anything extra to the eyes but that lip color makes those shadows pop!

and one more!

I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful. If you try this look please tag me on Instagram or post them to the blog group on Facebook. Oh, and what are your favorite red or berry lip colors? I am always on the hunt for good ones.

Until next time...
Xoxo,

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
