Empties: Home Edition and a TON of wax

Hello again,

It's time to talk about my trash again!
I looked back and the last time I posted a Home Empties was August 5th! So we have a bunch of stuff to talk about. If this is your first time reading one of these, let me explain: I briefly talk about products that I have used up. They are mostly cleaning type products but I also include my wax empties for those of you that are interested (they'll be at the bottom of this post)

Let's jump right in!

I use this spray when I need to go a light cleaning, meaning I am not getting down on my hands and knees and scrubbing the shower and tub. This does a good job for that. I don't use this when I am doing a deep cleaning because the foaming action on it's own isn't enough to cut through our hard water and all.

I usually go for the Clorox brand toilet cleaner because it cleans the best. I didn't like this one because it had a nasty mint scent to it! It was horrible! I'd take the cleaner smell any day over the smell of this stuff. I repurchased the "clean" scent when I ran out of this. It is MUCH better!

I can't get enough of my Purex Crystals (obviously) I am a little ticked that Walmart stopped carrying the baby scent. It smelled SO good and I loved washing bedding in it.

I used this laundry detergent for a few years and have recently switched to Gain. To be honest it was because our towels kept smelling like mildew. I think it is because our water is so hard here that natural detergent just wasn't going to cut it. Maybe that isn't why but either way, the Gain smells wonderful and we haven't had an issue with stinky towels since the switch.

I love the BBW foaming hand soap. I stock up when they are on sale and have them at every sink in the house. They work well, they smell amazing, and it's one little luxury I allow myself.

Don't you hate it when your dishwasher gets stinky?! I sure do. I picked these up at Walmart and they do a good job of keeping my disposal fresh.

My new love! I don't like the little things that hang over the rim of the toilet and I didn't think the bleach tabs that you put in the tank work so I gave these a try. Not only do they keep the toilet clean, they make the bathroom smell fresh too! It is a little weird to see the gel blob in the toilet but once you get used to it, you don't even notice it.

Tons o' Toms because it is the only toothpaste we use.

ON TO THE WAX!
If you're not into wax, I totally understand if you stop reading here. I have gone through a ton. I am not going to give scent descriptions because I am horrible at that. But I will tell you if I liked them or not.

I burned through my beloved Golden Cinnamon candle from BBW. This was SO good! I melted every last bit of it. I am going to clean this and use it somewhere in the house. The jar is a really pretty amber ombre color and the lid has a pretty leaf design all over it.

Tiffany Candles is one of my favorite vendors. I prefer her scoopables, chunklets, and teddy tarts. The clear bags on the left were a mix of teddy and old fluted tarts I had purchased years ago. Much to my surprise, they still had a strong scent to them. I really love her strawberry scents for the summer. Currently I am all out of her those kind of scents but I will probably purchase more next year.

Fuss Ass McGee is another favorite vendor. They're wax is really strong and I love the scents they offer. I have yet to order a wax from them that I didn't like. They make awesome aromatherapy scents too! Love their stuff!

(These are the scents of the clamshells above)

Scentsy, the vendor that started this wax addiction of mine. I purchased all of these a few months ago and blasted through them. I use two cubes per warmer, so wax doesn't last long in my house. As soon as the scent gets light I change it out for something new. All of these scents were great but Luna was by far my favorite!

All of these were nice. You can't go wrong with wax at this price and the good thing is that you can sniff them if you are in the store. I really enjoyed all of these. The only one that I had to be careful with was Vanilla Caramel Spice. I made the mistake of putting 2 cubes in each warmer and it about knocked me out of the house. It was WAY too strong! I used 1 cube per warmer from then on out and it was fine.

I know for sure that I threw a few of these Wallflower bulbs away because I change them out every month or so. This scent was really nice and fresh. I have at bunch of these (not this scent) because I stock up on them when they're on sale.

And that is it everyone! Did you stick around till the end? Give yourself a pat on the back if you did. haha! If you are into wax, what are some of your favorite vendors? I have narrowed mine down to a select few but if you think they're stuff is good I might give them a try. I hope you enjoyed this look at my trash. I want to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I'll see you back on Friday.

Until next time...

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
