Faithful Friday: Priorities

Hello again!

I  hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. It always amazes me at how fast the year goes by. It's time to take down the Fall decor and put up Christmas decor. I am so excited! I love this time of year.

Today we are going to talk about priorities. Let's face it, most of us lead busy lives. We're constantly being pushed and pulled in one direction or another. I have learned over the past few years that balance is key to living a happy and fulfilling life. You can't have that balance unless your priorities are in order. Let's talk about how I prioritize things in my life to make it manageable to me.

#1- Jesus
I have mentioned before that I am pretty much useless to anyone (including myself) if I don't have my relationship with God in the #1 spot. I get the question "What about you?". "What about Mr. Adela Told Me?". Those are priorities too, they're just not #1. Don't get fussy about it! Let me explain...I have tried to do things on my own for a long time. You know what I have realized through years of trial and error? Life is easier when I lean on God. If I have a decision to make, I pray for guidance. If I have something I'm worried about, I pray for peace until I get the guidance I need. I try, and I stress the word TRY, to take everything to God first. He is in control anyway so I might as well ask Him to help me through this crazy life I live. Another thing, I would dare to say that I noticed a change almost instantly when I started to make Him the #1 priority in my life. When He is 1st everything else falls into place.

#2- Mr. Adela Told Me
See, I told you not to get fussy! We are our own family now. We have created a life together and that is something that I cherish and protect with everything I am. I have him in the 2nd spot because I need to make sure that I am holding myself up to the standards I have set for myself. I feel good when my family is taken care of. I feel good when my house is clean. I feel good when the home unit is strong. We have a very calm and peaceful life and I feel like that is a very important part of us being happy and healthy. Part of #1 helps me succeed at #2.

#3- Me
Yes, I am my own priority. I don't want to hear it about putting him before me. That is just the way things are and that is a personal decision of MINE. Not yours. I make myself a priority because if I am not careful I will wear myself too thin. I can't always do for others. So I make time to do things that make me happy like blogging, catching up on YT, doing my nails, working on the beauty room. Which is almost done! I only need to move a few more things and get the furniture set up and we will be good to go!

#4- Family
Like I said above, I have my own family now. That is part of life, folks. You grow up and you leave the nest! Just because I have my own family doesn't mean that I blow Mom and Dad off. In fact, they probably wish I'd get out of their hair sometimes. Isn't it funny how the tables turn as you get older? My mom used to always call me and find out where I was. Now if I call her and she doesn't answer I give her the 3rd degree on answering her phone. Oh geeze! I can't tell you if I was raised to be independent or if I am naturally this way but either way, I am thriving on my own and I would imagine that is what any parent wants for their child. Right moms?

#5-  Friends
Life is better when you have a solid group of friends, isn't it? I love my friends! They are all so funny and my heart is full when I am with them. Now I admit, we do not spend nearly enough time with each other but when we do it is a blast! Luckily, all of my close friends are like family to me. I think almost all of them call my mom "Mom".

Well everyone, those are my priorities. I realize not everyone will agree with my list there but the fact of the matter is, I don't live my life for others so you can take it or leave it. Also I want to mention that there are times when life gets hectic and I have to give more attention to one more than another but I think the goal is to have this mental list so you keep yourself on track.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll see you back on Monday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
