Fall Decor and DIY Fall Garland Tutorial

Hello everyone!

Fall is upon us! and my favorite holiday is just around the corner. Our Thanksgiving meal is held at The Adela Told Me Headquarters which gives me the perfect reason to spread cute Fall decor all over my house. I love the whimsy of Fall decorations. I just can't get enough of them!

So let's take a little tour around and I will show you what I have up this year!

On the front door you are greeting by this adorable home made burlap wreath. and by home made I mean, it was made with my own two hands! Yep, first wreath ever and I love it! I got my burlap from JoAnn's (Fabric Store) and the form, flowers, leaves, scarecrow people from Michael's.

In the front window you will see this little creation. (Please excuse the glare) It is a mason jar, stuffed with burlap and leaves, with some fall flowers sprinkled around. And yes, these were left overs from my wreath supplies!

On the dining room table you will find this adorable pumpkin candle holder with my "Fall in love" sign, which is just the cutest thing ever! (both from Michael's). The little pumpkin with flowers on it is from The Dollar Tree.

On the side table near the couch I have my "Blessings" pumpkin (Family Dollar for $3, it was on sale for $1.50) and another flower pumpkin from The Dollar Tree.

The side table above sits next to the couch, I found this precious pillow at Ross before Halloween and I couldn't pass it up! There are 3 gold leaves across the pillow and the camera isn't doing the best at picking them up. I believe this was $9.99.

Now for the star of the room! My Fall Garland! I had this last year and I decided to revamp it and make it look totally different, because quite honestly, I didn't like the one I did last year!.

First you need to get an extension cord that will allow your string of lights to easily wrap around your banister. Or to reach your mantle, if you are putting yours there. I have mine on the stairs because this is the room we eat in on Thanksgiving so I wanted something festive and twinkle-ish in here. I wrapped my light string around each rod once so lights can shine at all angles.

Then I took a bunch of burlap, this was already cut into this size when I bought it at Michaels last year. I weaved that around the rods as well and tried to cover as much of the lights as possible. Oh, and I would recommend buying a string of white lights so you can't see them as easily. I have the green ones because that was all they had when I got them last year.

Using left over wreath supplies AGAIN. I snipped off leaves and tucked them in wherever I saw fit.

Here is the finished product! I absolutely love it and enjoy having this on at night for something pretty to look at until I can decorate for Christmas!

Here is an up close look at the garland. The little berry things were part of the leaf bunch I bought at Michaels.

I hope you enjoyed this post everyone. I would LOVE to see your Fall decorations, please tag me on Instagram (ADELAWITHONEL) or share your pics on The Adela Told Me Blog Group on Facebook. If you would like to see a Christmas Decor post, please let me know! I have an awesome Jack Skellington tree that I put up. It's pretty cool!

Happy Wednesday and I will see you back on Friday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
