Faithful Friday: Live, Laugh, Love 12/18

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

Today we are going to talk about a little "life moto" of mine, at least I guess that's what you can call it. This moto is something I have adapted over the years and simply put, it makes my life much more pleasant! I will explain each of the words below, what it means to me, and how I apply it in my life.

Presenting, Adela's Life Moto...

Simple enough, right?
I'm sure you have seen this saying somewhere (unless you've been living under a rock! haha)
Now, let's break it down...

~Live~
Obviously, I am alive! But one thing I tend to do is to get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that I forget to LIVE my life. By that I mean that I don't stress if the dishes aren't done all of the time. I don't stress if laundry is piled up. I don't stress if the house isn't perfect. If I am tired or if I don't feel like doing chores- I don't! I have made it a habit of mine to let the busy stuff wait if I want to say, plop down on the couch and enjoy time with Mr. Adela Told Me. I have noticed a huge change in my attitude since I made this change. I'm happier!

~Laugh~
If you know me, you know I laugh ALL. OF. THE. TIME. Really all the time! That's why I have so many laugh lines on my face. I can't help myself! Laughter is the best medicine, after all. So stop being such a "Serious Susan" and let yourself laugh!

~Love~
Aw! My favorite thing, LOVE. I love to love. I'm a hugger, I'm a lover. Sometimes it is easier to love certain people more than others but in general, I love my friends and family. Above all, I love the Lord, as you know. He has blessed me more than I can believe and what's not to love about that??

Well, friends. That is all I have for you today. I know this post was short but this quote always finds a way into my mind so I figured I might as well share it with you all.
I hope you have a wonderful and warm weekend!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
