Faithful Friday: New Year's Blessings

Happy New Year and Welcome back to another Faithful Friday!

I hope you all had fun ringing in the New Year. Can you believe it's already 2016?!? I don't know about you but I feel like 2015 flew by SO FAST!
Before I get started on this post I want to chat for a bit, if that's ok with you. If not, then scroll till you see the... "THE REAL POST STARTS HERE"

For those of you that don't mind my randomness,
Do you make new years resolutions? If so, have you accomplished them? I am not a resolution setter. I guess because I have never really been the type of person to wait for things to happen (Impatient much?) If I want to start working out, I do it! If I want to start eating better, I do it! I don't wait till the new year to start. I do however make a point to be a better me each year. I don't know if that counts as a resolution or not, but I'm curious what kind of resolutions you've made and achieved or not achieved if you want to share them.

THE REAL POST STARTS HERE

Now that I have gotten the blabbering out of the way...
Happy New Year again!!
I am welcoming 2016 with open arms and I decided to share a yearly goal that I have set for myself these past couple of years and it has really changed me into a better person.
I am going to insert a screen shot from my post last year that says exactly what I am talking about today...

This is the only "resolution" I am setting this year, just like the last. This is really important to me because as I have gotten older, I have realized what really matters (to me) in life. God (duh), my family, my friends, and my happiness. Life is too short to waste time being miserable, allowing people to take advantage of you, and so on. I have to say that a big part of my happiness, no, actually, I have to say that God has brought me to this place. I know that for a fact! He is the reason why I am in the state of mind that I am, that my life continues to become more beautiful and blessed as time goes on. The moment I decided to walk down this path with Him has changed me completely. I love it! No it isn't always easy and yes I stumble along the way. But I am a new woman now, and I have Him to thank for that.  Now I'm not saying that you need to get on my level (haha!) I'm just saying that I hope that you would make it a point to make this year better than the last. Maybe your relationship with God has been on the back burner and you are ready for a change. Surrender to Him. Let Him carry your burdens and you will feel so much better by this time next year!

Even if you are not a Christian, I hope that you make a point for this year to be better than the last and to be the best you that you can be! Don't let anyone take away your dreams and keep you from achieving your goals. You can do anything you set your mind to. If you want something bad enough, you will do what it takes to get it.

In a nutshell, I hope that 2016 brings you more blessings than you could ever imagine. I hope it is a magical and unforgettable year for you. Sure bad times will come but try to remind yourself that it's not bad all the time and you will get through it.

I also want to take this time to thank all of you, new and old members of The Adela Told Me family! Your support means more than you know and I love sharing with you. I have a lot of fun things planned for us in 2016 and I look forward to taking you with me along this crazy and fun journey.

So cheers to 2016! I am ready to take on whatever this year has in store for me, with God by my side.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
