Morphe 35W Palette: Swatches and First Impressions

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for joining me today, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend with your loved ones.

Today I am going to share 1 of 3 Morphe Palettes I recently purchased off Hautelook. I can show the other 2 palettes in separate posts if you show an interest in this one. So please let me know if you'd like that and I will post those soon!

This beauty is the 35W palette. As you can see here it is a mix of warm shades, hence the "W" in the name. You can't tell from the photo but this palette contains a mix of finishes as well. You will see what I mean in the swatches. Out of this entire palette there was only one dud and it just so happens to be the purple shadow right in the middle of this palette. In my swatch of this shade I was able to get some color pay off but it took me grinding my finger into the pan several times to get that much pigmentation and it wasn't impressive, especially when you compare it to the other gorgeous shadows in this palette.

Let's see some swatches, shall we??

We will go one row at a time...

Row 1-

This is the lightest row in the palette. All of the shades are great in this row even though you can't really see them in the swatch. These would be great highlight shades as well as transition shades.

Row 2-

We start to see the depth of these shadows in the next few rows. Again, no bad shadows here. I was really impressed by the pigmentation these things have!

Row 3-

The purple in the middle of this row is the dud I mentioned earlier. I was not impressed by this guy at all and I am happy to report that this was the only dud in the entire palette!

Row 4-

I loved this row! The camera didn't do these justice. The metallics in this row are gorgeous and I cannot wait to use them.

Row 5-

The first shadow in this row is by far my favorite shadow out of this line up. All of these shades are beautiful. The second to the last color is black with silver sparkle. I usually don't like shadows like this but this one is really pretty.

Because this was the first time I swatched these shadows I don't have a whole lot to report. I will say that I am very impressed by how pigmented and creamy these shadows are. I can't wait to start using them and really see what they have to offer on the eyes. You can find these on the Morphe website if you don't want to wait till they're back on Hautelook if you want this discount. I've seen these palettes on sale on the Morphe site and the Hautelook discount beat that. I also want to mention that shipping took FOREVER with Hautelook and I was really annoyed about that. I waited almost a month for these things to arrive!

Be on the look out for about a million tutorials using these palettes. I already have some really fun ideas!

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me) Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst. Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well. An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions. I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product. Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL!
