Glowing Skin "Minimal" Makeup

Hey everyone!

I hope you all had a good weekend. I am happy to announce that The Adela Told Me Headquarters has been relocated to...The Beauty Room!!! Yes, my friends, the long awaited, dream come true, big girls play room is complete! I am so happy with the way it turned out and will be doing a room tour soon.

Now, on to the reason you're here...
My Glowing Skin "Minimal" Makeup. The reason for the "minimal" part of this is because I am still applying a full face of makeup but it doesn't look like it. I like this look when I am running errands and don't want to get dressed up all cute to go out. You all know how much I love my basic white girl uniform. Haha! So put that sweatshirt, leggings, and Uggs on, girlfriend and let's get "minimal"!

This is the look I am showing you today. The star of this show is our gorgeous glowing skin.

(Take a moment to appreciate that highlight)

I prepped my skin with this hydrating primer. I definitely do NOT recommend this if you are oily. I do get more oily in my T-zone with I use this primer but an oil absorbing sheet is all I need to keep my oil in check. It is really nice over the areas over my face where I am dry. So if you're a dry skin gal then give this a try.

I used my concleaing team to tackle those ridiculously dark under eye circles.

I apply the Better Skin in Light/Medium under my eyes where the circles are the darkest.

I apply Fit Me in shade 15 to the other areas of my face that tend to get red.

Blend!

Set with NYX Banana powder. I love this stuff!

Apply foundation. If you wear liquid then apply your foundation before your concealer. You always want to end with powder so you don't get cake face (eww)

Contour with the darkest color in this quad. This is the Physicians Formula Nude Weat Bronzer in Light.

I blend the contour with the other two lighter shades in the quad.

Get your brow game on! I use this pomade when I want a quick fix to my brows. I really like this product from Milani and I don't have to set it with a gel after.

See the difference?!

When I blended my concealer I went over my eyelid. To further even the color of my lids I apply NYX shadow in Lace all over.

Blush time!
This really livens up our face. I use two blushes for this look. This is Life's a cherry (top) and baby doll (bottom). They are beautiful together!

I apply baby doll all over the cheek.

Then apply a teeny amount of life's a cherry on the apples of my cheeks. Now this shadow is PIGMENTED! So use a light hand and tap the life out of your brush before you touch it to your cheek!

Blend the two together.

Now for the glow!

Highlight the tops of your cheeks and bring it around to your temple.

Highlight the bridge of the nose, tip of the nose, cuspids bow, and center or forehead.

Set everything with setting spray.

Apply some tinted lip balm.

And work your insanely gorgeous highlight in a selfie!!! Haha!
But seriously, I love this look and I get so many compliments on my skin when I wear it.

I hope you all enjoyed this look. It's so simple and fairly quick once you get the hang of it. Tag me if you try it!!! Or share a picture on the FB blog group.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
