Faithful Friday: Fruit of The Spirit: Peace

Hello again,
Happy Friday to you! I hope you all have had a good week so far. Today we are moving right along with our FOTS (Fruit of The Spirit) Series. We are on our third fruit which is PEACE.  As you are reading this I am headed off to Sweet Life Conference and I am so excited! If you're going, be sure to say hi when you're there!
Did you meet your goal last week?? Were you joyful?? I tried my best to be joyful but I have to be honest, sometimes it can be hard to be joyful. Anytime I felt myself loosing my joy and not showing love (our last two fruits) I would put myself in check!

Ok, back to Peace...
Peace isn't just a cute sign you put on your mantle at Christmas. Peace isn't just a sign you make with your hand when you're channeling your inner hippy (haha! Did you laugh at that? Because I did) Peace is something very important to me as a Christian. I try to keep a peaceful home, I try to be as peaceful of a person as I can be. However, sometimes life can get hectic and circumstances arise that are anything but peaceful. So how do I keep my peace? Run around like a chicken with my head cut off singing woe is me?? No!  Sure there are things in this world that can give me peace, like a massage, a nice quiet walk, or listening to the rain. Whatever it might be, nothing comes close to the peace I get from God.

The dictionary defines "Peace" as- A state of tranquility and quiet.
Doesn't that sound lovely?!

How do we apply peace to our daily lives?
I have come to realize over the past couple of years that in order to truly be at peace I need to make God the focus on all things. Without Him, there is no peace. I have learned to do is this: In every circumstance. EVERY. CIRCUMSTANCE. I keep my focus on God and remind myself that He will give me peace if I ask for it. The reason I do that is because I know that God is putting me in that situation to learn something. If I loose my peace then I am not going to focus on the chaos and not learn anything. And so far, so good! It feels so good to have peace in my life! I'm telling you, if you guys can get to a point where you can do this, you will feel so much better and it will be so much easier to get through difficult situations. Another thing to remember is that there will be times when you wont don't this because you will forget but don't worry, those will be a great reminder to do it next time!

Sooo...now you know what time it is...Goal Setting Time! yay!
Our goal this week is to maintain peace.

I hope that you enjoyed this post! Have a great weekend and I will see you back on Monday.

Peace out (get it?? haha)

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
