Faithful Friday: Fruit of The Spirit: Love

Hi everyone,

Thank you for stopping by today. I am starting something new for our Faithful Friday posts. This post is the first of 9. I know 9 posts sounds like a lot right now but let me explain...
This idea came to me a few months ago. I am going to go through The Fruits of The Spirit one by one. I set a goal for myself to focus on these fruits to help myself grow this year. What better way than to share these with you all. Before we get started I want to explain what in the world the fruits of the spirit are. I'm not talking about a fruit salad, people! I am talking about a passage in the Bible that sums up the nine attributes of a Christian's life. Paul writes about this in his letter to the Galatians. You can read it for yourself in Galatians 5:22-23. I will link to it below if you'd like to read it.

Today we are talking about the first fruit which is Love

What is the first thing you think about when you hear that word? Your husband? Your kids? Me? haha! It is easy for us to think about worldly things that we love but if we take a step back and think about the bigger picture my best example of love is God. God is love. He loves us in such a way that we can't ever grasp how deep His love is for us. Think about something you love more than anything in the world and magnify that my a billion, a trillion, an infinity and still...He loves YOU more than that. Isn't that awesome?!

How can we apply love to our daily lives?
Allow yourself to be an example of God's love to others.
After all, we are Christian's. Which means we are Christ like. Which means we have The Holy Spirit inside us waiting to be used by us.

I'm not saying you need to walk around giving hugs to every person you see or that you need to tell them all that you love them. But when you come across someone and you feel your heart strings tug a bit- jump on that chance to show love. I know I have said this before but we might be the only person a non-believer might come in contact with. We might be the person who makes a difference in their lives, enough of a difference to make them want the love we have inside of us for themselves.

So the goal this week is to display love each day. That means 7 times! Are you up for the challenge? If you are interested in setting these goals for yourself, let me know and we can encourage each other. Let's make a difference in someone's life. Take the time to listen to them. Pray for someone. Lift someone up when they are down. Smile at someone who looks like they're having a rough day, and love!

I hope you all enjoyed this post. Next Friday we will be talking about Joy. Have a good weekend all of you lovers (wink wink) and I will see you back on Monday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
