Faithful Friday: New Adventures

Hello and welcome back to Faithful Friday. I hope you've all had a good week! I want to share a little bit of an idea that has been popping into my mind lately. I've been praying about it so nothing is for sure... YET!
I have been feeling the urge to move in a more faith based/lifestyle direction with my blog. As I said above, I'm not sure what that means. It's something that keeps coming into my mind lately so I'm praying on it till I know it's the right move for me. Fear not, the makeup will remain on the blog if this change ever does happen.
I'm asking for your help. If you're the praying type, please pray that I will be lead in the right direction. And PLEASE leave any ideas you have for these extra blog posts. What kind of posts would you like to see as far as topics go? There have been a ton of ideas rolling around in my mind while I try to figure out what and how I would do this. In a nutshell, I will switch Wednesday's over to faith based posts (at least that's the plan for now)
Sometimes it can be hard to listen to the Holy Spirit when it speaks to me because I get comfortable, things are familiar, but staying comfortable doesn't allow me to change. So here I am again, forcing myself to step out of my comfort zone! I'm not going to lie, it's scary sometimes. And I've tried to ignore these thoughts, trust me! It's been going on for a while now so clearly God isn't going to let this go. Isn't it funny how we think (hope) that He will forget that one thing He is asking us to do??? Why do we do that?! Haha. I have to remind myself that I wouldn't be who I am today if I stayed comfortable. He needs to use me for something and I'm excited to see what that something is. It seems to me that change is on the horizon, so we shall see what happens!

Pray for me friends! I appreciate your support and am excited to see what the future holds for Adela Told Me...

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
