Monthly Favorites: July

Hi everyone!
The time has come for another Monthly Favorites. If this is your first time joining me for this kind of post, let me explain, I briefly describe the product and will link it below if possible.

Here we go!

Drink: Starbucks Black Tea Lemonade
I would drink one of these everyday if I could. I go between this and the unsweetened black tea but this is what I've been ordering lately because it's been SO HOT and this is so refreshing. I actually think I'm going to start making this at home since I'm that hooked on it.

Perfume: Marc Jacobs Mod Noir

I've had this perfume for almost a year now and I still love it! If you like gardenia then you will love this perfume! It's only sold at Sephora so you won't find it anywhere else. A little goes a long way with this and it lasts forever! I like this because it is a floral but not in an overpowering way. It's perfect!

Eye Liner: Maybelline Gel Liner in Brown

There was a period of time that I would only use this gel liner. I stared using liquid and put this in a drawer that I hardly ever use. Since my allergies haven't stopped and my eyes insist on watering in the mornings, I need a liner that will stay put. So I gave this a whirl and I am so happy that I did! This stuff doesn't budge throughout the day no matter how much my eyes water. If you're looking for a good gel liner, this is it!
Blush: Tarte

I've been reaching for Tarte blushes a lot lately and for every day wear. I like them because they don't oxidize or wear off during the day. You get a great amount of color with very little product and they blend easily. If you haven't tried a Tarte blush, I recommend waiting till they come out with the gift set they come out with at Christmas. I got one 2 years ago and have used the blushes regularly and haven't even made a dent in them!

Nail Polish: Salon Perfect in Haute Pink

I think we can all agree that this is no where near pink! haha! but I picked this up the last time I was in Walmart because it looked like a pretty close match to a polish I love from China Glaze. I usually paint my toes this color at least once (more like 10 times) during the summer. I love how bright and eye catching it is, and it also makes me look a teeny tiny bit tan. I haven't swatched these side by side but on my tootsies it looks as close as I'm going to get and it was super affordable! Remember: the picture in the link looks nothing like the actual color. This polish is pretty much a florescent orange color. If I think about it, I will insert a picture of it on my toes so you can see what I mean.

Dry Shampoo: Batiste

Since my hair has gotten longer I have been able to go 2-3 days without washing it. I know that might sound horrible for some of you but I haven't washed my hair every day for the past several years. Partly because I am so lazy and I don't want to wash my hair every single day but also because I have color treated hair and it will make my color fade faster. Batiste is by far the best dry shampoo I've every used. It smells good but doesn't have an over powering scent. It soaks up excess oil very quickly and gives me a bit of volume too. It does leave a white cast to your hair (especially if it's dark like mine) but they offer colored sprays too and I've tried the dark brown one which is really nice! When I use this, I spray small sections of my roots all around my crown first thing when I start to get ready for the day. Then I wash my face, apply makeup, get dressed, and finally I will massage the powder into my scalp and style as usual.

Lip Scrub: Perfectly Posh

I use these at least once a week. They make my lips so soft and smooth. The balm left behind is so hydrating to the lips. The exciting news is that Posh recently released new Fall and Winter products which includes two brand new flavors of lip scrubs! Obviously, I haven't tried those yet, but I can't wait to get my hands (or should I say, Lips) on them! haha

Primer/Setting Spray: Makeup Revolution

I didn't know what to expect when I got these because this is such a new brand. I LOVE these products! Before I apply the primer spray (that smells like roses) I will apply a bit of a pore refining primer just because this doesn't do anything to hide my pores but it does do a great job at keeping my oily areas in check. The setting spray is great too, If I have any kind of powdery look to my face at all this will get rid of it. It too helps control my oil (even when not used with the priming spray) These are really good products and very affordable too. What's not to love about that?

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment: Rose

I got this in a small sized trio last year. It came with 3 different colors in it and I have been using this color in particular a lot lately. I really like the color that this gives to my lips. It's really bright and natural looking. It also feels amazing on! I usually wouldn't spend this much on a lip treatment but the trio I got wasn't bad at all.

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
