Halloween Series: Jester

Halloween Series
Jester

Hey there!
I hope you've been enjoying this years Halloween Series thus far. I know I have! These looks are so much fun to create for you. Today I will take you along as I transform into a Jester. Now I realize some of you may have thought I looked like a clown and you very well could use this as a clown makeup but because I have an irrational fear of clowns, I refuse to call it that. Haha!
Believe it or not, this look is a lot easier and faster to create than the Zombie Girl I did previously. I will link that post below in case you missed it. I will also link the 3 Easy Looks post for those of you that want something SUPER QUICK AND EASY.

This look is another 2-in-2 look. Meaning I split my face into two separate designs that will mesh awesomely together. Half of the face is this super cool black and white diamond pattern. Half is this creepy yet playful Jester

Here is a picture of the finished look. If you want to see how I achieved this look then keep on scrollin'  (Queue terrifying carnival music)

As I mentioned in my last tutorial, priming the skin with a thick primer is crucial when you are applying makeup like this to your face. My skin isn't too sensitive but I will break out from using such heavy products.

Next I applied a wax pencil to my brows and smoothed over them with my finger to make them lay as flat as possible. (This was a brow wax pencil by Milani)

I started drawing out the diamond pattern on one side of my face with Milk. Keep a pencil sharpener handy, you go through this rather quickly.

You will notice that my pattern isn't perfect and that's ok! After all, you're a jester, it doesn't have to be perfect.

I filled in the empty areas with a black gel liner (Essence Brand)

I made the other side of my face white with the Milk pencil.

I got carried away in the makeup and the music that I forgot to take pictures of these steps. I'm sorry! Thankfully they are pretty self explanatory. I used the black gel liner again and made this crazy looking eyebrow. Then I took a blue pigment from MAC and made the diamond around my eye. The pink on my nose is also a pigment from MAC. Then I used a black liquid liner to draw the stars, the dot below my diamond, my lower "lashes", and winged liner. I kept this side of my face pretty simple because I figured the black and white side was busy enough.

I forgot to buy white mascara (fail!) so I applied Milk to my upper and lower lashes the best I could.

I added regular black mascara to the blue eye and applied some bright red lipstick. I did over draw my lips, especially the outer corners. I used a lip brush for a precise line.

And we are done!!
What do you guys think? Creepy huh?

I had a lot of fun putting this look together for you! I hope you've enjoyed these Halloween tutorials this year. I have one more look that will be up next week so stay tuned for that!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
