Ulta Birthday Haul: First Impressions & Mini Reviews

Hi everyone!

If you follow me on Instagram or are part of my blog group on Facebook then you probably saw my post about my Ulta order. As most of you know, my birthday was last month and I was given an Ulta get card that was burning a hold in my pocket. haha! It just so happened that Ulta had a 20% off your entire purchase a few weeks ago so I paired that with my gift card and got some things I have been wanting to try.

On to the goodies!

NYX has come out with quite a few products I have been wanting to try so I snatched them up!

I was getting low on my setting sprays so I took advantage of the sale and ordered back ups of them.

I have heard great things about this powder. I was really impressed by the texture of this powder. It's very silky and blends in nicely to the skin. I got this to set my under eye concealer. I have used it once and I was really happy with the results. I noticed that I had less creasing with this than I do with my trusty elf HD Under eye powder. I still plan on using the elf one but it is getting low. Maybe this one will replace it. We shall see!

This beauty was in my Fall makeup tutorial I posted on Monday. These shadows are a great value! NYX really knocked it out of the park with these!

Another favorite. I used this in the Fall tutorial too. It's great! Look at how pretty it is!

A girl can never have enough brow gel. I fill in my brows everyday so I go through gel like it is going out of style. I haven't tried this yet but I like that not a lot of product comes out on the wand. It adds time on when I have to scrape the extra product off before I use it on my brows.

I've had my eye on this lipstick since it came out. I was so happy that I got it. This is my ideal lipstick shade. It smells like vanilla and it's very creamy and soft.

I  was really excited for this one! This dries to a semi matte finish. It has just a touch of sheen to it. It's a bit more pink than I usually would go for but the rose tone in this  makes it wearable for me. It has a very smooth texture. I haven't tried this on my lips but I know it will be beautiful.

Makeup Revolution is a new brand to Ulta. It is a very affordable brand. I have yet to see this in my local store but they have a good variety of products on the website. I believe all of these products were $6 each. So very affordable and you get a lot of product.

I usually would never go for a shimmery bronzer but I thought this would be a great shimmery topper to my Fall blush shades. It is a very light color so I don't know if you could wear this is you are much darker than I am.

This is a beautiful highlight! I used this a few times since I got it and I love the way it looks. It gives the most gorgeous highlight. I think there are two other colors in this and I might get them because I love this one so much.

You know I love EOS lip balm. A friend of mine posted this "flavor"?? on Instagram and I had to have it. I use these everyday and I have them all over the house. I started carrying the stick form of these in my purse because they take up less space.

My old trusty black Maybelliene gel liner was dried out so I needed a new one desperately. This bad boy was about $3 so I decided to give it a try. I haven't used this yet but it looks creamy and really dark.

This was the lipstick I used in my Fall makeup look. These lipsticks are great and they are very affordable ($2 - $3 a pop). I can see myself wearing this a lot during the Fall and Winter.

That's the bottom of the box! I am really happy with the stuff I got. I also ordered a blush from Essence called Life's a Cherry and a body lion from EOS. Those were shipped seperately so I don't have them to show you. Please let me know if you want a more in depth review on any of these products.

Until next time…
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
