The Power of Makeup

Hello again!

Thank you for joining me today. What did you think about my video announcing this post? If you aren't part of my private blog group on Facebook then you have no idea what video announcement I am talking about. Please be sure to join for the most up-to-date information and extras. I have seen this video on YouTube a few times and I love seeing the transformation. It is easy to see when you take before and after photos but what better way to REALLY see the difference than doing half your face. Today's makeup is heavier than I usually wear but I am really happy with the way it came out. I wasn't so happy about my lashes coming off on the inner corner but that was user error. I hope you all enjoy this post. If you want to see how I achieved this look then scroll your little heart out!

Here is the look I came up with. HUGE difference, huh?

Here we go!

First things, first- I applied a pore minimizing primer to my moisturized face.

I used this sample of Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation and blending that into my skin with a Real Techniques Complexion Sponge. This was my first time using this foundation and I was really impressed! It leaves the nicest finish to the skin.

Once my foundation is blended, I applied a salmon toned concealer under my eyes to hide my dark circles. To highlight my undereye area I applied this Trina Tarantino highlighter. I don't know if you will be able to tell from the picture but this is a light pink color and it really brightens the area.

And blend!

I set my concealer with NYX HD Finishing Powder in Banana.

I applied a heavy contour to my cheek, temple, forehead, nose, and chin

I primed my lid with Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Filled in my brow with none other than Milani's Brow Fix Kit. I went heavier with the darker color than I normally do and created a strong arch.

To define the brow even more I applied a light concealer around the edges.

Back to the eyes- I picked the Chocolate Bar because it has some gorgeous rich colors in it.

I applied Salted Caramel in the crease and blended it out with a fluffy brush. Oh, I also applied a piece of tape to give me a strong edge to my shadows.

I've only used this shade a few times but it is BEAUTIFUL! I placed Cherry Cordial in the outer corner and brought it into the crease. Then blended again with the fluffy brush I used for the last color.

Using a small round brush I applied Triple Fudge to the outer corner and crease. Then blended again with the fluffy brush.

I wanted the lid to stand out so I applied Girl Talk with my finger.

Highlighted the brow bone with Whipped Cream.

Smoked out the lower lash line with a mixture of Triple Fudge and Salted Caramel.

Applied these insanely huge lashes. I trimmed the inner corner because they were way too long. After I had them on my eye I realized I should have trimmed more because the inner corner lifted. I also forgot to take pictures of mascara (Lash Sensational and Lash Discovery by Maybelliene) and Fabuliner in black by Jordana. THEN I applied my lashes.

Blushed my cheeks with this blush in the shade Nude.

High lighted so much that they could see me from Space with good ole Mary.

Lined and filled in my lips with MAC's Mahogany Lip Pencil and topped with Blissful Berry Lipstick

Annnnd….we're done!

Holy smokes! Is that a difference or what?!?

This makeup look is so beautiful, I will for sure be wearing this again.

So what did you think about this post? Pretty fun isn't it?? I had so much fun doing this for you. If you try this, I want to see!

Until next time…
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
