Faithful Friday: Let your faith be bigger than your fear

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another Faithful Friday. Today we are going to talk about….

The picture above has been a wallpaper on my iPhone on and off for the past couple of years. I think it is important for us to be faithful and brave. As a growing Christian, there are times when I come up with an idea, this blog for example. I had been told for YEARS that I should start a YouTube channel and I tried recording a few videos. I couldn't get used to talking into the camera and I didn't feel that I had my heart in it. So now what?? I posted pictures of makeup and would share information with friends but that wasn't enough. Dare I start a BEAUTY BLOG!?! No! Absolutely not! Never! Who is going to take the time to read it? Who is going to care about what I have to say? I'm not a good writer. Those were my first thoughts on blogging. Over time, the idea just wouldn't leave my mind.  I thought long and hard for months about blogging and here we are today. Blogging has been one of the most rewarding things I have done to date. I might not have a huge following and be a well known name but each and every one of you that reads these words are so special to me. I don't think you can ever understand how much your support means to me. I love you guys! and without you, there'd be no Adela Told Me...

So one day, I was reading this quote and I thought wait a minute! If I really believe in this saying then go for it! You see, I am a Christian, as you know. Part of being a Christian is having faith. Part of having faith is having fear. You have to let your faith be BIGGER than your fear. Otherwise things will be very hard for you. One thing I have noticed is that the closer I get to God, the more obstacles I come across. If you're not very careful and have BIG FAITH then your fear will consume you. Another thing, the devil hates it when we get farther away from him and closer to God. So he will fight as hard as he can to test your faith and pull you away from God. It's a constant battle and you have to be willing to fight all the time.

I want to leave you with these final thoughts. I realize not all of you are Christian's but I want you to have a way to apply this in your lives. No matter how impossible your dream may seem, wether it be traveling, life goals, changing jobs, or starting a blog. Please, please, please do not give up on your dreams. ALWAYS remember to let your faith be bigger than your fear.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Please let me know what you thought about it. I hope you have a great weekend and I will see you back on Monday!

Until next time…
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
