Faithful Friday: It's ok to be a little black rain cloud

Hi Everyone!

First of all, how many of you starting singing that song from Winnie The Pooh??? I did!

Today I want to talk about something not so pleasant...being sad, mad, down, or just off your game. We've all been there. It's something that we might not feel comfortable talking about or admitting but it happens so we are going to talk about it!

I know most of my posts are uplifting but let's take a look at the "little black rain cloud" side of things. So here we are, something has come up and totally brought you into a deep-dark place. Maybe you feel sorry for yourself, maybe you feel like the world is against you, maybe you feel like no one understands you. Whatever it might be, you're upset and you have no plans of getting over it any time soon.

What do we do about it??? How do we get over it??? Well, that depends on your personality, temperament, and situation. Personally, I go through quite a process to get over things. Sometimes I get over things right away, sometimes I don't. Most of the time I will start out by praying. I believe in the power of prayer and I also believe that I have an open line of communication with God. If you aren't a Christian, that might sound nuts. But to fellow believers, it makes perfect sense. Yes, I talk to God. No, I don't hear some booming voice answering me. But when He does answer, even when it's not right away, it is amazing.

It is ok for us to be upset, it's ok for us not to have a perma-smile on our faces at all times. If you need to cry, by all means, get it out, girl. Cry in the shower, do the ugly cry holding your pillow tight. Do whatever you have to do to make yourself feel better (within reason). When you're done, clean yourself up, take a couple of deep breaths, and move on with your life!

I am going to wrap this up here. I hope you enjoyed this post, my little black rain clouds.
Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you on Monday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
