Hi everyone,
I hope you all have had a good week. Thank you all so much for being patient during my absence. I wish I could say that I had an awesome time away but it was anything but awesome. I caught the nastiest flu bug and it is still lingering!
Today we will continue with our FOTS Series. Have you been diligent in practicing your fruits? I have tried my best and let me tell you, it's pretty hard to show these things when you're feeling like death warmed over. Haha! Please forgive me if this layout isn't like the others. I am typing this on my phone so I can't reference between screens like I usually do when I write these.
Get your fruit basket ready...
Here comes another!
Another doozy for me. If there is one thing I have learned about myself it's that I have A LOT to learn from these lessons! This one will be no different I'm sure.
The definition of kindness is- The quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.
See what I mean by a doozy??
If you were to ask me if I were kind I would say NO! Honestly, I wouldn't think that at all. However, it just so happened that Mr. Adela Told Me was sitting near by when I wrote this so I asked him if he thought I was kind and he said yes and explained why he thought so. So we are basing this off his answers today.
How do we apply this to our daily lives?
I have to rely on my job for this answer because I don't have much of a life outside of work. Don't feel bad for me, I like it that way. Haha! The good news is that my job requires me to put myself in someone else's shoes on a regular basis, which is perfect for this. And before I get this question, I will address it now, I don't say exactly where I work or what I do for privacy reasons. However, if you want to know, just ask me privately. I'm not a secret agent, or am I?? (Wink wink)
Because of the nature of where I work; people are anxious, scared, or in pain. Either themselves or for a loved one. Which means, I have to sprinkle kindness around like glitter. Sometimes all you have to do to make someone feel better is to smile at them. Remember, you might be the only person that smiles at them all day! That makes that smile seem like a much bigger deal than "just a smile" doesn't it?
Maybe even crack a joke. Which I am awesome at! Yep, that was a big ole toot of my own horn there. I love to crack a joke! It's a great way to calm a situation or take someone's focus off their nerves.
Those are two great examples of being friendly.
Now for being generous- simply by giving without asking in return. You can do this by taking time to listen to someone. Sometimes people just want someone to talk to. That really helps pass the time. Especially when you're nervous. It doesn't matter what you talk about, just talk.
And last but not least, being considerate-
Be present when you are with someone. Wether you are face to face or on the phone. If it is important enough for them to share it with you, then it's important enough for you to listen.
This was an awesome fruit! I'm really enjoying these and I hope you are too. As I said above. I typed this on my phone so I am not able to link my other posts below like I usually do. If you google "Adela Told Me patience" or whatever fruit you are looking for, it will pop up there.
Again,
Thank you all so much for being patient with me while I was away. I am hoping this bug will vacate my body soon so I can get back in the beauty room and play with some makeup.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! And don't forget our goal this week.
Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela
