Go To Makeup Look Using Affordable Shadows

Hi everyone!

Thank you for being patient about this post. I was finally able to edit these pictures (I had about 20 minutes before I clocked in at work this morning so if some of them are a little off, that is why. I was in a crazy rush!)

Today I am sharing a look that I wear A LOT. This is my go to look (hence the name) that I do when I don't really know what I am going to wear or just don't feel like putting on eye liner. It is a very pretty look and once you get the technique down, I can slap this baby on in no time.

Here is a preview of the finished look. Fresh, effortless, and goes with anything.

Let's get to it!

You have heard me talk about this palette before. I am telling you, this is a wonderful palette to add to your collection. Especially if you are just getting into matte shadows. It's full price is $10 but when elf has a sale, get it! I got mine for $5 and I plan on getting a back up the next time a sale goes on.

I primed my lids and applied a good amount of this nude/pink shade all over my lid. This will help us blend the shadows out. Another reason why I do this is because my lids can be a little bit discolored and this kind of shade gives me a more even tone to work with.

Using an angled brush and this taupe/grey shadow I applied that to my crease and blended up towards my brow. You don't want to take the shadow all the way up to the brow but you want the color to fade as it goes up the lid.

Using an elf crease brush I applied this dark drown shadow in the outer corner.

Going in with an even darker brown, using the same brush. I darkened the outer corner even more.
I blended the shadows together as I added on color. If you need to blend them out then just use a fluffy blending brush and blend your heart out!

I wanted my brow bone nice and highlighted so I used my favorite nude shadow.

To add a bit of shine and to really open up the eye, I applied this Milani shadow to the inner part of my lid and used a tiny brush to get the inside corner.

Using the first dark brown shadow we used on our lid earlier, I smudged it on the lower lashline.

Time for liner and lashes. This mascara is really nice, I got this as my birthday gift from Ulta. I might have to look into getting a full size after I go through the insane amount of mascaras I have in my back up bin.

I pulled this out of my makeup drawer the other day. I had forgotten how beautiful these blushes are. They do have some shimmer to them but they add the most gorgeous healthy glow to your skin.

We can't forget the highlighter! To added this pretty pink color (which could be a blush on it's own) just over the tops of my cheeks and slightly blended it down to mix it with my blush.

This is the easiest lip combo ever! I line and fill in my lips with Jordana EasyLiner in Tawny and go over the top with L'Oreal La Lacque in Chocolacque. This combo goes with anything and is very flattering on my skin tone. Oh, and don't mind the unwanted guest what is on my cheek. He popped up because I used that mask that sucked all of the bad stuff up to the surface. He went away the next day but I guess he wanted to be part of today's post. haha!

And we are done! Here are some pics of the finished look. I really like this look, like I said before I put this on whenever I am not sure of what I am wearing or don't feel like putting on liner. The lashes really stand out when I don't have liner on.

I hope that you all enjoyed this post. I plan on doing more colorful looks but I haven't had the time to sit down and play with makeup yet. Please let me know if you have any requests and I apologize for not getting this up for you guys sooner.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
