Monthly Favorites: February

Hi Everyone,

Today we are talking favorites again. I don't know why, but these posts always seem to sneak up on me! Again, another month has passed us by and Easter is just around the corner!
If this is your first time joining me, Thank you for coming by!
As usual I will tell you a bit about each product and why it is a favorite of mine. I will link to as many products as I can below each post.

Here we go!

Favorite Candle: Mainstays (Walmart) Garden Rain

You all know how much I LOVE home fragrance. If you didn't know that, now you do! I have smelly stuff all over my house. I always want my house to smell good when people walk into it. Or even just us. haha! I have candles lit, Wall Flowers plugged in, and warmers going all the time. I have melted through almost my entire wax stash so I am constantly browsing the aisles at Walmart for new waxes and candles. I was in Walmart recently and came across this candle. It smelled SO good! It is a really nice fresh, clean scent. The name of it describes it perfectly. I've lit this every day since I bought it so I have burned through half of the candle already. The size of it is nice, not too big, not too small. But next time I go I am going to get the bigger jar. I also got the wax in this scent. The cubes of the wax are smaller than the other waxes you can find at Walmart but much to my surprise...they are strong! I put one tiny cube in each of the 3 warmers I have downstairs (yes, I have 3 warmers downstairs) and lit the candle. I could smell this scent upstairs but it wasn't the choke you out kind of strong. It just smelled GOOD! I can't get enough of this. I need to get more before I run out because I can't go without it now.

Coffee: Peet's Major Dickason's Blend K Cups

Another thing you should know about me is that I LOVE COFFEE! I have to have coffee every morning and some times during the day. My favorite is dark roasts so Major Dickason's Blend (which I always thought was Major DickENson's Blend). It's very strong but it doesn't have that bitter taste to it like a lot of other strong coffees do.

Creamer: Chocolate Chip Cookie

I am not a big chocolate fan. I mean, I wont turn it down, but I hardly ever crave it. I was in Target one day looking for creamers and my girlfriend pointed this out. I snatched up the small bottle of this because I didn't know what to expect and I was so surprised that it wasn't sickeningly sweet or chocolaty. It really tastes like chocolate chip cookies. I am almost out of this so I have been mixing it with a bit of vanilla creamer to make it last longer. It is so yummy!

Perfume: Raplh Lauren Romance

This perfume is nothing new. It has been around for a really long time. Some how it managed to hide from me for all of these years. I first gave this a whiff in one of those paper smelly things they put in magazines. One whiff and I was hooked! I purchased this in the rollerball because I have been buying those instead of the full bottle of perfume so they don't go bad before I actually use them. I had to toss so many old perfumes because they had gone bad before I used them. I like how versatile this scent is. I can apply a little dab during the day and a full on roll for evening. It's a beautiful fragrance. I saw recently that they now have a Midnight version, I am going to look for it next time I'm in Ulta to see what that smells like.

Eyeshadow Palette: elf Mad for Matte

I bet you were SO surprised to see this! Yeah right! I have been using this thing like it's going out of style. It is so easy to use! It goes with any eye look I wear, unless it's not matte. But who am I kidding...I always wear matte shadows. Seriously, girls, if you are in need of a good and affordable matte palette...look no further! elf has answered the call. Ok enough theatrics. This is a good palette. The shadows are nicely pigmented and they blend easily. I do apply a nude shadow or the first color in this palette all over my lid before I apply any other color to help speed along the blending. It's great!

Brush: elf Blush Brush

One thing I always tell people is, don't feel like you only have to use brushes for what they are labeled for. Brushes are tools so use them however you want. I've used this for blush, highlighter, but my favorite way to use this brush is to set my under eye concealer. I agree that it is big, but it fits perfectly in that area and gets the job done quickly. And it's only $3!! I stock up on these when elf has a 50% off sale. I believe I own 3 or 4 of these now.

Bronzer: Physician's Formula Nude Wear

I didn't use bronzer for the longest time. When I did use it, I would go through phases where I wore it all of the time and then not at all. I decided I wanted to start wearing it again and then I just so happened to find this on clearance at Target. The light shade is perfect for my skin tone. I use the darkest color as a contour and then blend it with the two lighter shades. I have already hit pan in the dark shade. Boo! So I need to get a new one soon. I don't really use the glittery shade in this because it has actual pieces of glitter in it and you can see them when you apply it to your cheek. So I am not a fan of that unless I feel like being sassy.

Highlighter: Wet n'Wild Illumiating Palette

Wet n' Wild has made two of my favorite highlighters. I got my mitts on this baby as soon as I saw it at CVS. The shades in this palette are beautiful. The darker ones I use more as a blush. They are very pigmented so tap your brush off! Very pretty! Good job Wet n' Wild.

Lip Combo: Jordana Tawny Liner and L'Oreal Lip Lacquer in Choco lacque

Tawny Liner:

I have been a long time fan of Jordana EasyLiners for Lips. I have a variety of shades. Tawny however has a special place in my heart. Probably because it is that nude pink that holds the spot for my favorite shade of lip color. I like to line and fill in my lips with this color. Sometimes I will only wear that with a bit of gloss over the top. So pretty! I am a bit ticked because she has been hard to find at Walgreens. I might have to break down and order some online before I am out.

Choco lacque:

Tiffany D (Makeup by Tiffany D on Youtube) has talked about this before. As soon as I saw this on her I knew that it had to be mine! This alone is gorgeous, this over the top of tawny is gorgeous! You just can't go wrong with this. This color goes with everything and the formula is nice and comfortable on the lips. I love it. Another thing I am going to have to get a back up of soon.

Well my friends, those are my favorites for this month. I hope you enjoyed this post. What are some of your favorite products?

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
