Faithful Friday: Fruit of The Spirit: Goodness

Hey there!
Today we are talking about Goodness. I can't believe we are already half way through our FOTS series. Have you been keeping up with your goals and growing your fruits over the past few weeks?? I have and I am really happy to report that I find it easier to maintain these "attitudes" as time goes on.

Let's get to learning!

The definition of "Goodness" is- The quality or state of being good.

Now we ask ourselves...Are we good?? Or are we naughty?? haha!
I'll give you all a minute to think about that. The reason I am doing that is because when I was writing this I had to stop for a minute and think to myself about whether I can honestly say that I am good or not. We're not taking about "good job" or "I'm good", We are talking about goodness in the eyes of God. Now how "good" do you think you've been? Eeek! Admit it, I'm sure most of us had a tiny bit of doubt when we thought about that. If you didn't, then good for you! If you did...we're in the same boat, sister!

How can we apply Goodness to our daily lives?
One thing I like to do is start the day off with a prayer, meditation, or time with God. I usually have some alone time in the mornings, especially on my commute to work. I like to take advantage of that quiet time to have a little chat with God. He knows my frustrations and short comings better than anyone so most of this time is spent asking Him to change what He needs to in order to make me a better me. That is a good starting out point if you are trying to get your fruits growing.
Another thing I can think of is to try your best to make sure that your actions reflect goodness in the eyes of God. Have a good attitude, be polite, lift others up. Much like the other fruits we are already working on. (Like how I brought that full circle? wink wink)
Just remember this, if your actions are pleasing to The Lord then you are doing the right thing. Yes, we will stumble. But each day we are given a fresh start. So take advantage of today- Let the Goodness of the Lord fill you up! and share that with everyone you can!

One quick note: I was wrapping this up and I felt the urge to share this so here we go...
I have been so awestruck by God these past few weeks. I don't know if it's because Easter is coming or what but I feel His presence so strong lately. I love that feeling. My heart is so full. I have been hanging on to this feeling as tight as I can and I make a special point to remember this high point. If you are at a high point be sure to remember this time. Enjoy every second of it. Make note of it somewhere so you can go back to it when you are feeling low. We are so blessed, aren't we? All of the plants and flowers are starting to come back to life and I can't help but be amazed that He created all of these beautiful things for us to enjoy. I want to wish you all a Happy and blessed Easter. Invite someone to church with you on Sunday. I included a link to one of my favorite stories from the Bible and I love reading it, especially this time of year. Aren't you so thankful that the tomb is empty?!

That is all for today. Happy Easter!

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I have some new posts planned for you all and want to thank you for sticking with me through my absence. Also, I am still planning on doing a giveaway to celebrate over 20,000 views. You guys are awesome! Your support means the world to me. I can't wait to get back into blogging regularly. If you have any requests, please let me know.  Xoxo, Adela
