Product Updates

Hi everyone,

I did a post a few weeks ago sharing some new products. (It is linked at the bottom of this post)At that time I had tried most of them once or twice so I was only able to give first impressions on them. I have been using those products since then and have a pretty good idea of what I think about them so I thought it would be a good idea to update you, in case you were thinking of purchasing any of these yourself.

elf Illuminating Eye Cream~
I have to admit, I didn't have high hopes for this when I decided to get it at Walmart. I have tried SO many eye creams. Affordable, expensive, and everything in between. Still, I have yet to find one that I love. When I purchased this I was having a bit of dryness under my eyes- Thanks for the cold weather. Within a matter of days the dry patches were gone! I can't say that I notice any "illuminating" from this product. However, I am very pleased with the amount of hydration I get from this cream. I have used this both day and night and do not have a problem with my concealer creasing from it.

TresEmme Get Sleek Heat Protectant~
You guys know that my favorite hair spray is made by TresEmme so I thought this would be a safe bet for a heat protectant. I was right! This is an aerosol which is unlike any heat protectant I've tried. I really like it. It's a light mist of product so it doesn't make the hair extra damp. I try to wait till my hair is most of the way air dry and then will spray some in the ends before using a hot tool. It also smells really good!

Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment Oil~
Love, love, love these! I knew I loved them right away but I wasn't sure if they would actually hydrate my lips. I have been using these non-stop since I got them. In fact, I have 4 now! I have one of these on hand at all times. These are not lip glosses, they're meant to be a lip treatment. I apply mine before I do my makeup or while I am at work. I'm one of those people that has to have something on their lips so these are perfect for me! and they smell so good!

Equate Strikingly Unique Moisturizing Lotion~
I really like this lotion! This is a knock off of Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizer. I used that for years. Then I stopped for some reason, probably because something new came along. I read about this on a blog (I can't remember the exact blog because it was on Pinterest) The next time I was in Walmart I went on a hunt for this line. I was really surprised 1. that I hadn't seen this before. 2. That they had quite an array of wanna be Clinique skincare products! From what I remember, they had this, a face wash, a toner, the cleansing balm, and the bar soap cleanser. When I go back to Walmart, I might give those products a try to see if they are as good as this is.

Beauty 360 Detoxifying Perfecting Black Facial Mask~
I have used this several times since my original post. I am really enjoying it. If I am having little break outs this will clear them up right away. It has a tingling sensation on the skin, which I love. Another thing I appreciate about it is that it doesn't dry my skin out. Definitely a good CVS find!

Bio Oil~
I have continued to use this on a regular basis since then. I do not have the smoothest of skin. Probably because I am really bad at applying lotions after my shower. I have tried to get better! I keep this little bottle on my vanity near by night creams so I make it a point to use it more. I am happy to announce that this has helped a lot with my skin texture. I'm by no means smooth but I am a lot better! The hydration this provides is awesome! I still have quite a bit of product left in this bottle but I have a feeling I might need more when I run out.

Those are the updates for now. If you've tried any of these, let me know what you think about them. I hope that you all enjoyed this post! See you back on Friday.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
