Halloween Series: Comic Girl Pop Art

Halloween Series
Comic Girl

Hey guys! Thank you for joining me today. This will be the last tutorial of this years' Halloween Series. I know...boo hoo! It's so sad. I figure by this point you either have picked your costume or you're sick and tired of Halloween tutorials. So we will be back to our regularly scheduled programming next week. Haha!

I've seen this makeup similar to this over the years and I thought of doing it last year but I didn't (obviously) So we are doing it today!

Let's get comical!

Here is the finished look with a tons of filters. Doesn't it look cool!?!

Starting with a clean and moisturized face, I applied a poreless primer and two layers of foundation.

I blended in my foundation with a Real Techniques Sponge and then applied a light concealer under my eyes. I used Maybelliene Fit Me in shade 15. Then blended the concealer in with my R.T. Sponge.

I set my entire face with this elf powder.
I used the powder puff because I wanted my face to be lighter than it normally is.

I applied a good amount of a matte hot pink blush.
Remember if you are doing this, you are a cartoon so you want everything to be matte.

I applied Milk as a base for my eye shadow.

I chose this matte purple shadow and applied this all over my lid with a flat brush.

Using a black gel liner and a small detail brush, I drew in a line just above my natural crease.
You want to be sure to draw your line just ABOVE your natural crease.
Otherwise, you will smudge the line from blinking.

I applied a brow wax to smooth down my brow hairs.
Then I drew in some dramatic and concerned looking brows.

Using the same brush I drew lines around my face.
You can draw on as many lines as you want to get the look you are going for.

I lined my upper lash line with this black liquid liner and created some lashes on the outer corner.

I created two lower lashes on the lower lash line.

Apply your normal mascara and line your waterline with Milk pencil.

I wanted my comics girl to have an extra girly look so I chose this hot pink matte lipstick.

Outline your lips with the black gel liner. Don't forget to add on your "shine" on your lower lip!

Now you can stop here and be done with her or add on the white dots like I did.

For my white dots I took the Milk pencil and sharpened it so it had a nice point to it. I tried to keep my dots in lines across my face. To do this, I started with a line across my forehead and then continued the rows across and down my face till I was done.

I popped on this funky wig I had from Halloween costumes in the past.
It would be so cute if you added in a colorful wig to play off your makeup.

Here are a few more photos of the finished look...

So sad! haha!

I hope you enjoyed this super fun look! I was really happy with the way that this turned out. In a lot of the photos I saw of these kind of looks the girl had a tear falling down her face. I think that is cute too but I decided to skip that on my look. If you try this please let me know, I would love to see photos of it.
And don't forget to share pictures of your halloween costumes with the blogging group or tag my on Instagram (ADELAWITHONEL) I would love to see them!

We will get back to our normal blogging routine now that the Halloween Series is done. I will link all of the other Halloween Series Post's below.

Until next time...
Xoxo,
Adela

Get Ready With Me: Sick, but you'd never know it!

Welcome back! We've all had days when we're feeling under the weather and would rather stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, life doesn't always allow us to do so. I had one of these days this past weekend... it was Jr. Prom night for my nephew which means, photos with Auntie (he loved it, trust me)  Here are my tips and tricks on how to look your best when you're feeling your worst.  Let's get started... First things first, start with a clean face. Then, moisturize and prime your skin. I used a heavier moisturizer under primer because my skin tends to get very dry when I'm not feeling well.  An oldie but goodie is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. This is about $5 at Target or drugstores. Concealing is always important. Especially when you're sick. I applied Age Rewind under my eyes and Dream Lumi around my nose to hide extra redness. I blended them in with my fingers using light patting motions.   I evened out my complexion with two fairly recent products...

Adela's at home pedicure

Welcome back! Spring is officially here which means warmer weather and cute sandals! It's time to get those tootsies back in shape! Now I can admit, a professional pedicure can be nice. But if you are short on time and want to save some cash why not do it at home? Today I'll share my at home pedicure routine. I do this year round (Once a month in the winter. Twice a month in the spring/summer). Let's get started... Here are the supplies you'll need: A towel Nail Polish remover Cotton balls Sugar scrub Bath Salts  Lotion Manicure kit Cuticle oil Cuticle remover  Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle Nail file Buffer Pumice stone  Correcting pen Orange stick Clippers Cuticle clippers Base coat Top coat Polish of your choice  Large bowl to soak your feet I know that seems like a lot, you probably already have these items. If not, you can find most of them at your local dollar store.  Step 1. Remove old polish. This is the polish remover I use. Any brand will work. Step...

I went shopping!

Hello again, Let's be honest, we all love to see what others buy. I know I do! I've picked up some new beauty products and I thought I'd share them with you. This is several trips/purchases put together in one post. Grab a snack and some iced tea. It's going to be a long one!  Here are the goods. Some are repurchases, some are new. I can't wait to dig into these babies! I'll say a bit about each product.  Covergirl Clump Crusher- I've been a long time fan of Covergirl mascaras. Clump Crusher has made it's way into my favorite spot. It has a plastic brush with a curve to it so it easily reaches all of the lashes. As the name implies it doesn't clump AT ALL! I didn't believe it till I tried it and now I alway have a tube of this. I stock up when it's buy one get one 50% off.  I ordered the next three products off Hautelook a few weeks ago. This is the foundation I always use. It's several shades swirled together as a liquid then baked on a ...
